Before Donald Trump was elected, he promised to put America first. In pursuit of that goal, he pledged to eliminate the U.S. trade deficit and promote domestic manufacturing by imposing tariffs on nations he felt had taken advantage of America. The so-called tariff war has created quite a stir causing the economic world to shutter. In the last few days, however, there seems to have been a shift toward more cooperation among nations prompting many to hope for peace and prosperity.
