Vayera

The fourth reading from the book of Genesis is named Vayera (וירא). It means "And he appeared." In this torah portion we see the culmination of Abraham’s transformation from just a man with a calling to the spiritual father of a nation. The pinnacle of this sidrah is the akeidah – the binding of Isaac – and Abraham’s unwavering faith in the Heavenly Father.
