A Faithful Priest

The portion's name, emor, comes from the word that means “to speak.” This is one of the portions that compels us to discuss things we've discussed many times. Specifically, the priests were required to deny themselves more so than the Levites. Then there are these other stipulations placed upon the priests: very rigid standards. Aaron wasn't allowed to approach his dead sons or remove garments. In spite of the tragedy, as High Priest, he was required to continue in his service.
