And the Earth was Filled with Violence

In this portion we begin a new cycle. We should be reminded that at the end of one cycle a new one begins. There is always a reason for every season. Seasons work hand in glove with the Father’s purpose for everything. Even in the changing of seasons from Summer into Fall we see evidence of this by the response of those things living around us. These cycles and patterns are reflective of the Father’s process of things. B’reshiyt is seed from which all things come - physical and spiritual. We see in this portion the Father establishing boundaries for everything under the sun as creation unfolds. These boundaries serve purpose and remind us during this time if we overstep our boundaries or if they are ignored, chaos ensues. The beginning contains everything that will be present at the end. Light came out of darkness in the beginning and as we presently live in darkness, we know one day His Light will come forth in His glorious return. Until then, we occupy and abstain from idle hands. Even living in these dark times we know that His intended purpose will be fulfilled.
