To Contend Or To Be Content
When the Father calls us to walk His path, we have to learn to be content in every season that path may take us through. At times we can get transfixed on what our brothers and sisters paths may look like rather than our own. That is the wrong frame of mind. Look how Korah, Dathan and Abiram became discontent with what they were being called to do. It wasn’t enough for them to bear the ark of the covenant. Jealousy serviced, rebellion was displayed and Gods wrath followed. Some feel that their talents/gifts are better suited for what they want to do rather than what God actually called them to do. We need to be very careful that we don’t allow our hurts, grievances (legitimate or otherwise) and the emotions connected to them, drive us away from God. In this portion we are warned to separate from this type of influence when it is recognized lest what is coming upon them draw us in with it. Let us be careful about who and what we come against lest we find ourselves contending with God — that’s dangerous.
